For those that enjoy the great outdoors and like the idea of mixing better mental health with movement, Walk and Talk Therapy is a great option for both counseling and life coaching.
What is Walk and Talk Therapy?
It is traditional psychotherapy where both client and counselor are walking while talking. It is the perfect mind-body connection. Science has shown incredible benefits from both psychotherapy and walking and when combined together the two become exponentially successful. Walking produces endorphins, the body's natural morphine-like chemicals that improve mood, walking also slows the heart rate and increases blood flow to the brain which may help improve memory, task coordination, scheduling, and planning.
Other benefits of Walk and Talk Therapy
- Some people may simply enjoy getting up and out during their traditional counseling session instead of simply sitting.
- Others may feel less encumbered by the uncomfortable silences or eye contact of a face to face meeting.
- Still others really appreciate the intricacies of the mind and body connection.
Confidentiality Issues with Walk and Talk Therapy
